We are in the initial phase of our journey, fine-tuning our plan and carrying it out one step at a time.
Step 1-
Recruiting Cultivators; people willing to grow food on their windowsill or in their garden, to be distributed as a donation based service.
Step 2-
Develop and implement a system for harvesting and distribution, to alleviate food poverty, much like a foodbank.
We currently have two people on the board of directors and a growing number of supporters. If you would like to Get Involved, see We're Recruiting! article below.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be hosting a Troon Focus Group to share our ideas and learn from everyone who attends;
-Which parts of our plan do you like?
-Which parts of our plan would you like to benefit from?
-And which parts of our plan could you help with?
Everyone who attends will be offered a hot drink, a plant pot full of compost and some seeds.
Date and location to be confirmed.
Please keep up to date by visiting Roots and Wings.social on Facebook.
Many thanks
Are you passionate about interpersonal and environmental wellbeing?
Awesome. So are we!
The easiest way you can get involved is by becoming a RaW Cultivator:
Simply find (or make) a plant pot, fill it with compost and sow a few seeds.
Then, take really good care of yourself and your plants. Not sure how? There is an abundance of information online and when we’re up and running, we’ll be regularly sharing it on our website and on our social media sites.
Start small, have patience, and grow.
Once we have enough Cultivators, we’ll begin collecting and distributing the harvest. Soon, you’ll be able to register your plants with us, to help us achieve our shared aim:
-By the end of February, we hope to have 500 plants growing
-2,500 plants growing by end of March
-And 10,000 plants growing by end of May
It’s an ambitious plan, but if we believe, we can achieve!
But maybe you want to do more...
We’re looking for a few people who can join us on the Board of Directors and commit between 5 and 20 hours a week ASAP for the medium to long term.
